THE BLACK VELVET BAND
Formed in 2023 in Kansas City, MO, the Black Velvet Band (BVB) came together through long-held friendship and a shared love of Irish folk music. Its name originated through a tongue-in-cheek pun referencing the classic folk song of the same name, and the tune has become a signature favorite of their performances. The original plan was to perform once a year at St. Patrick's Day, but the group quickly realized that a one-time appearance every year wasn't enough.
Composed of piano, guitar, bass, drums, and close three-part vocal harmony, BVB's style is lively and fun, showcasing their musicianship through traditional folk song.
October 10th will be a "10 out of 10" event where BVB will delight with new musical tunes based on stories of location, place, and home. You can look forward to plenty of banter, familiar songs, and lifting a glass to the Emerald Isle!
