A Night of Microtonal Jazz, arrangements and songs by Jackie Myers - full band with strings and horn section!
Jackie Myers is a Kansas City jazz pianist, composer, producer and vocalist. With an academic foundation that includes studying under Gabrial Espinosa at Grinnell College, studying jazz improvisation with Gary Burton at Berklee School of Music, and then studying with Bobby Watson at UMKC (M.A.), Myers possesses a rare technical mastery that fuels her creative experimentation. Before establishing herself as a cornerstone of the Kansas City jazz community, Myers spent nearly a decade touring the competitive Austin, Texas indie music circuit. Since arriving in Kansas City, she has maintained a prolific presence, performed at top-tier venues including The Blue Room, The Folly, Club 1909 and the Green Lady Lounge.
